Race Point Beach

Cape Cod National Seashore Located at the tip of Cape Cod in the town of Provincetown, Race Point Beach is a dreamy beachgoers delight with its sandy coastline, dunes, and sweeping views of the Atlantic.

It's a serene beach and we're always amazed by its quiet beauty because rarely is this beach crowded. You'll definitely know you're on the outermost beach on Cape Cod.

If you've read our other beach reviews, you'll know you won't be spending the afternoon floating on your boogie board because the water at Race Point is very cold. Toe curling cold. But you'll still see some hardy souls out there, including Karen, who can't go to the beach without taking a swim, no matter how cold the water is.

The waves can be rough and you should keep an eye out for rip currents. (This is good advice for all Cape beaches)

Like all of the Cape Cod National Seashore beaches, you won't find a snack bar here so make sure you pack drinks and a snack or better yet, grab a sandwich from Far Land Provisions on Bradford Street, Angel Foods on Commercial Street, or Relish also on Commercial Street. All offer takeaway sandwiches, sides and sweets.

With spectacular sunsets, Race Point Beach is an idea location for a beach fire, but permits are required.

Cape Cod National Seashore You will find clean changing rooms and bathroom facilities.

Parking fees are $15.00 but like Herring Cove, you can avoid this cost if you ride bikes since Province Lands Bike Trail loops around Race Point Beach.
