Family of four with 2 little ones....please help!!

Hi! I will be vacationing with my family to the cape for the 1st time at the end of July till early Aug. We will be staying in E. Sandwich. Having two little ones in tow, 7 and 2.5 years old. We were wondering what other things can we do with them besides the beach? Lastly, which bike rental shop on the cape would you recommend for a family of four that will give me the best bang for my buck?

Hi,

Sorry for the delay- your question didn't show up in our queue!

In Sandwich, you'll find Heritage Gardens which has a new outdoor childrens' activity area, Hidden Hollow, which has received fabulous reviews. They also have a carousel, cafe, and plenty of exhibits for you and your husband to enjoy.

There are two bike rental spots in Sandwich- Cape Cod Bike Rental on 6A, across from the Stop and Shop and EcoTourz. We've never used them but have rented from Barb's in Dennis. DO you plan to ride the bike paths? I'd recommend the Shining Sea in Falmouth- not too long and the best part is that you can swim along the way in WARM water and stop in Wood's Hole for lunch and an ice cream. They have a great little museum there at WHOI. Art's Bike Shop or the Bike Zone in North Falmouth rent bikes as well.

Green Briar is another great spot for kids and adults offering great trails, gift shop, kids area.

There also is a small mini golf course right on 6A, a perfect size for tots.

Are you planning to head up Cape? If so, let me know and I'll try to recommend some other activities!

We're sure you'll have a great time.

Karen and Michael
